If you are looking at applying for a Work to Residence work visa, then you need to meet the following requirements:
1. Accredited Employer:
Your employer should be an accredited employer (there are some other options available if your occupation was on the long term skills shortage list, however, the Retail industry may not have any such occupations available). You can check the following database to see if your employer is an accredited employer.
note: This list is not always up to date and you may have to check with your employer and/or Immigration New Zealand to establish if the employer is accredited.
2. Meet the income threshold
You need to be earning a minimum of $55,000 salary for a 40 hours work week. This means that your hourly salary should be $26.45 per hour or more.
note: New Zealand govt. is currently reviewing this threshold and may increase this salary threshold.
