How can i apply for residence i am working as a farm manager on 450 cows farm in te Awamutu? Please answer
Dear Harjap Singh,
If you have sufficient points, you can apply for residence if you meet following requirements:
1. Under Accedited Employer Work to Residence Policy
If your employer becomes an Accredited employer and if you meet the salary threshold (which is currently at $55,000 NZD per annum), you may consider Work to Residence policy.
2. Skilled Migrant Residence
If you have sufficient points (you need 160 points) then you can apply for your EOI for residence. You can do a free calculation of your points from this Carmento Free Assessment Tool You need to be able to prove that your job is a skilled job, this can be through two different methods:
2. a Skilled Employment as per ANZSCO
If your role matches one of the ANZSCO occupations at skill level 1,2or3 and if you have a minimum of $25 per hour salary then you can apply for your EOI. Most common matches in the dairy/Beef industry is that of Dairy/Beef Cattle Farmer as per ANZSCO. You will need to prove that you are actually the manager and not a glorified farm worker or an assistant manager.
2.b Skilled Employment based on salary
If your employer pays you $37.50 per hour or more, you can also claim that you are in a skilled occupation. In this option, you don’t have to be a manager and you can get residence in any role as long as you can prove that the salary paid to you is genuine and sustainable for the business.
