My partner is working as technical support advisor in fujitsu from last 2 months, she have done IT level 5and 6 .before that she was working in concentrix at same position for 2 years in wellington can we claim her work exp points as we calculated before it is only 150 and can she get residency from fujitsu at same position . Any new changes for technical help desk advisor.
Thank you for your kind words. We have created this option to be able to help all migrants.
For your particular scenario, I will recommend that you also consider Work to Residence policy for your partner.
My suggestion is based on the following:
1. Fujitsu is an accredited employer: Consider work to residence policy
As Fujitsu is currently an accredited employer, if your partner earns $55k per year or more, she can consider applying for work to residence visa. The different between the salary requirements for Skilled Migrant Residence ($52k per annum) and Work to Residence ($55k per annum) is not a lot and if you act fast enough, she can get her work to residence work visa before govt increases this threshold for work to residence policy for $78k per annum (proposals are underway).
2. Points for SMC
The difference between the Skilled Migrant Residence and Work to Residence visa for you would be that you do not need to be concerned for your points. However, based on the limited information provided in your question:
For two years of experience, she can get 10 points for experience and as this experience is in NZ, she can get 10 bonus points in addition.
I have developed a free points calculation tool which you and your partner can choose to calculate your points. If you have 160 points right now, then you can start EOI process right now. Even if your points are not 160 yet, I will recommend that your partner changes onto Work to Residence work visa, as then she will have the benefits of both world. She will be gaining experience for Skilled Migrant Residence and yet the time spent will also count towards work to residence policy. SO, if in future any one policy changes, you still have the advantage of good planning and you may use the other policy for residence.
