Also i hope to.join a research based position soon in a univeraity starting from March 21. Can I get travel excemption. Like go back in early Jan and come back in March.
Dear Letty,
Currently, the borders are closed and it is unlikely that your request for a travel exemption to be approved as per the Govt’s current policy.
The details of the requirements for the allowed reasons for which INZ considers granting an exemption are mentioned here: https://www.immigration.govt.nz/about-us/covid-19/border-closures-and-exceptions/critical-purpose-reasons-you-can-travel-to-new-zealand. If I were in your position, I would go and be with my wife. Life is long and there will be always other opportunities to pursue career options, but the family must comes first. However, if your wife is now fine, you may consider sorting the land issue by using a power of attorney option.
Kind regards,
Malkiat Singh
