I am holding an open work visa (will expire August 2021) and working for an accredited employer. My position is Quantity Surveyor/Estimator (Skill level 1). Pay meets the new threshold. Now I need to get essential skill work visa from my employer. Does my employer still have to do labor market test? Or can I directly get the Essential skills work visa easily as my employer is accredited?
Note: I do not meet the requirements for Long term Skill shortage work visa.
Hi Joel
If you do not meet the requirements of the Long Term Skill Shortage List your employer will need to conduct a labour market test if you are applying under essential skills work visa policy.
If your employer is accredited and your annual salary is $79,600 then you can apply for two years work to residence work visa under Work to Residence (Accredited Employer) policy. This does not require a labour market test.
